Women’s Canadian Club is a non-profit, non-political, non-partisan and non-sectarian organization; and it welcomes women and men as members.
Our Mission:
Women’s Canadian Club, London, Ontario is a membership-based speakers organization providing monthly meetings on topics dedicated to preserving our Canadian identity, increasing our interest in matters affecting the welfare of our country, informing us about Canada’s part in world affairs and acknowledging the outstanding accomplishments of young people in our community.
We believe:
- in Canada,
- that it is important to provide a forum and audience for passionate speakers,
- in broadening our minds by learning about many diverse topics,
- that it is important to foster an interest in public affairs,
- in cultivating an understanding of Canadian culture,
- in providing a forum for global issues, and
- in supporting the youth in our community.
Our 2024-2025 Speaker Series began in September 2024 with a full line up of exciting speakers. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through March at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel (300 King St, London ON) on the 2nd Floor, Ballroom. In April, we hold a Spring Luncheon with special pricing.
On February 6, 2024, the Women’s Canadian Club of London is pleased to welcome DR. ANGELA ROBERTS, the sixth participant of the 2024-2025 Speaker Series.
Keynote Speaker – Dr. Angela Roberts
Dr. Roberts will speak on: Aging Well: Lessons Learned From Neurodegeneration to Exceptional Cognitive Aging
Angela Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Computer Science (joint). She holds the Canada Research Chair in Data Analytics and Digital Health in Cognitive Aging and Dementia and is Co-Director of the Collaborative Specialization in Machine Learning in Health and Biomedical Sciences.
She holds research appointments at Northwestern University (Chicago), The University of Chicago, and the Canadian Centre of Activity and Aging. Dr. Roberts’ research seeks to understand models of cognitive aging from neurodegenerative brain diseases to exceptional cognitive aging as part of a larger research program that focuses on aging well.
